MARine Biodiversity and Ecosystem Functioning leading to Ecosystem Services

To interrogate the BEF (biodiversity ecosystem functioning) framework in order to operationalise the links between BEF and the resulting ecosystem services and societal goods and benefits as a way to create and enhance policy and governance for maximising the Blue Economy; to determine the ecological value of the structure, functioning and ecosystem services and the economic value of the ecosystem services and societal goods and benefits; to fulfil the major global and European societal and governance demands (via the SDGs, the Decades of Oceans Science and Ecosystem Restoration, etc.).
