"""The work to be done will deal with the habitat choice of
corals under the effects of ocean acidification. Spatial community shifts observed along CO2
gradients are expected to change the chemical cue in the water. The effect of cues from crustose
coralline algae (CCA), dominant algae and adult corals present in the control zones will be
compared to cue from turf and macroalgae present in high CO2 zones. Sea water will be added a
level of control in the experiment. Planulae of the studied corals will be collected by hand using a
plastic bag. Planulae will be moved into aquaria running with normal sea water. A two choice
chamber experiment will be set in a way that a a planula will be given the chance to move and
chose one of the selected cues. The trials will be replicated using always different larvae and after
washing carefully the two-choice chamber tool. The prediction is that CCA and corals would
determine a of positive cues for planulae while macralgae and turf from the acidified area would
represent a negative or neutral cue. Data will be analysed using an ANOVA approach."""
