CAIMAR JOINT LABORATORY

"The macro objective of this proposal is to reinforce the Italian-Argentinean cooperation with the aim of:
1) Improving the knowledge of Argentinean seas and oceans and further seas (Mediterranean Sea, polar areas, etc.) in order to carry out multi-disciplinary comparative studies for understanding the functioning of marine eco-systems within selected areas;
2) Enhancing current scientific debate and further research on Blue Growth issues and their potential for bilateral cooperation. These issues can trigger growth and competitiveness both in Italy and Argentine and comprise Integrated Coastal Zone Management, ocean energy, blue biotech, Marine Spatial Planning, underwater cultural heritage, etc.
3) Boosting cooperation not only in Research, but also on Training and Dissemination within the areas of Marine Sciences and Technologies (e.g. eco-friendly vessels, fisheries, etc.);"
