Alessandro Rinaldi

Ricercatore
Alessandro Rinaldi graduated in Marine Biology at the University of Palermo (BSc 2006, MSc 2008) and obtained a PhD in Environmental Sciences – Marine Environment and Resources (2013) at the University of Messina (Italy), focusing on the integration of mechanistic models for coastal zone management. Since 2022, he is a permanent researcher at the Institute for the Study of Anthropogenic Impacts and Sustainability in the Marine Environment (CNR-IAS), Palermo, where he previously worked under several national and international research programs. His research activity focuses on the eco-physiological responses of marine organisms to environmental stressors, bioenergetic modelling (DEB theory), and ecological risk assessment in coastal and transitional ecosystems. He has been involved in European and national projects addressing climate change, invasive species, marine pollution, and aquaculture sustainability. He serves as scientific WP coordinator and research unit participant in EU-funded projects. He is author of over 25 peer-reviewed publications, including articles in Environmental Pollution, Aquaculture, and Frontiers in Marine Science, and regularly contributes to marine restoration and biodiversity assessment initiatives.
